SplitGenius ("we", "us", "our") is a free calculator tool operated by Blue Snow Developers LLC. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

Data We Do Not Collect

All calculator inputs — rent amounts, incomes, bill totals, room details — are processed entirely in your browser. We do not send, store, or have access to any of the financial information you enter. There are no user accounts, no databases storing your calculations, and no server-side processing of your data.

Analytics

We use PostHog for basic analytics to understand how people use our site — which pages are visited, how long sessions last, and which calculators are most popular. This data is aggregated and anonymous. We do not track individual calculations or financial data.

Local Browser Storage

We use your browser's localStorage to save your recent calculation history (up to 50 entries, automatically deleted after 30 days) and your calculator usage streak. This data never leaves your device — it is not sent to our servers or any third party. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

Cookies

We use minimal cookies for analytics purposes only. These cookies do not contain personal information and are not used for advertising or tracking across websites.

Email & Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter or use the "Email Me These Results" feature, we collect your email address. Your email is stored securely with our email service provider, Resend, and is used only to send you the content you requested. We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties.

You can unsubscribe from any email at any time using the unsubscribe link included in every message. When you email results to yourself, the calculation data is included in that single email and is not stored on our servers afterward.

Shared Links

When you share calculator results, the data is encoded in the URL parameters. This information is visible to anyone who receives the link but is never stored on our servers.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Vercel — hosting and deployment
• PostHog — anonymous, aggregated usage analytics (page views, session duration, popular calculators)
• Resend — email delivery for newsletter subscriptions and emailed calculator results

Each service has its own privacy policy. We do not share any personally identifiable information with these services beyond what is necessary to provide the features you use (e.g., your email address with Resend when you subscribe).
